Question - What are Grapples good for?

Grapples have lost a lot of their functionality with the most recent updates to MineZ and Shotbow. This raises the question as to what makes these tools worth 125k Shotbow XP or 10+ Hours Ginding 5k Career Bow Kills? The following are the uses I can think of and why they aren't really viable anymore:

    1. Fishing Rod PVP: With the transition to 1.9, Grapples/Fishing Rods no longer deal knockback, meaning they are unless in PVP. (No longer applicable)

    2. Dungeonering: With the Origins Part 1 update, most dungeons now have a shroud that prevents you from casting your grapple. This is something that is both good and bad. It is good that people can no longer skip large sections of dungeons, but bad that people can no longer use Grapples as a safety rope incase they fall while doing the parkour legit. (No longer applicable)

    3. Traveling: While Grapples can be useful in climbing the terrain, this is kind of unpractical since a Grapple only has 8 uses before it breaks and you can only get it back through respawning. This means that if you use your Grapple 4 times to get over one of the Tundra mountains, you only have half your Grapple left for getting over any other terrain you encounter before having to go all the way back to spawn. (Not practical)

    4. Looting Locations: Grapples can be used to skip a little bit of tedious parkour or get into areas that normally require a button, but similar to the last use, this is usually just a waste since the Grapple only has a few uses, and almost all chests can be looted normally. (Not practical)

    5. Escaping Other Players or Zombies: Out of all the uses, this is the one I feel is the best, although even it has some gapping flaws. If you are trying to escape other players with your grapple, you'll need to be in a location with buildings or other structures that the tops can't normally be accessed. And even if you manage to get on top of such a structure, there is still a good chance that the people you are running from have a grapple and can just follow you up. If you are trying to escape zombies, then you're probably just better off running away, since most locations that you can't run away from the zombies (like wave rooms *cough* Mantle *cough*), are dungeons that now have anti-Grapple shrouds. (Only somewhat practical)

Personally, I feel like Grapples need some kind of buff or rework. Whether its giving them more durability so they can be used for traveling, making them work in dungeons while still preventing them from letting players skip parts of the dungeon, or completely changing the way they work so that they act more like a ladder and less like personal catapult.

    Thanks for reading!

Some chests and locations require a grapple to get to or make it that much easier

That and taking nice screenshots without one is tedious.

In some dungeons you can grapple to places where you would otherwise not be safe
