Hello Survivors! A Rising Threat is emerging at a once familiar dungeon in the newest MineZ Update, coming to live servers on April 17th! Redefining "Elite": The elite dungeons of MineZ are among our premier pieces of challenging content, and while they've remained important pieces of our world, they've begun to show their age. A project of many hours, months, and thousands of command blocks, Desert Canyon Sanctuary has been completely rebuilt, with new challenges and enemies, and rewards to be claimed. The new elite has many secrets throughout, and a careful eye for additional challenges will be needed for those who wish to claim the best rewards from this re-imagined dungeon. You'll find DCS at its usual location with its familiar grandiose entrance, but what lies within will be a journey into the unknown. We hope this new set of challenges better reflects our goals for engaging, high-quality content, and both old and new players alike take part in exploring the expanded halls of this elite rework! DCS Release Challenge: With the release of DCS comes a few challenges to reward those who complete them! The following accomplishments will yield prizes for those who achieve them first: 1st Solo: Starting on release, the first player to beat DCS as an individual will be awarded in-game prizes. You must record the full duration of your run, marked at entering the instance and leaving via its natural exit. No other players may be present during the run. 1st Full Completion: Starting on release, the first team of players to beat the entirety of DCS will be awarded in-game prizes. You must record the full duration of your run, marked at entering the instance and leaving via its natural exit. In order to consider the dungeon complete, you must open the Tomb of the Forgotten King. Fastest Completion: Starting on release until Sunday, April 27th, the fastest submitted run will be awarded in-game prizes. The rules are as follows: You must record the full duration of your run, marked at entering the instance and leaving via its natural exit. You may not bring more than 4 total players on your run. In order to consider the dungeon complete, you must open the Tomb of the Forgotten King. Winning submissions will receive special in-game prizes for each participating member! All submissions must be considered "glitchless". Unintended bugs and exploits of the dungeon will not be permitted in official submissions. Submitted videos must contain POV of the entire dungeon. You must submit your full recording via a video link as a reply to this forum post by April 27th and specify which category you're submitting for. Each submission is only permitted for one category. Out With the Old and In With the... Old: For many years, players and staff have grappled with the conversation surrounding old content. While we're still debating what this means moving forward, we've decided to relocate the former version of DCS. Under the new name "Fiend's Mirage", the dungeon you've come to know will remain in the game in a newly hidden location and with slightly adjusted loot to reflect it's demoted status from "elite", but otherwise retaining all its previous features. Though the dungeon is showing it's age, we feel the desire to retain content that players still enjoy outweighs the need to completely remove it at this time in these circumstances. While this does not guarantee the same treatment in the future, we may consider this course of action when appropriate for future pieces of content. What Comes Next: Please check our changelog for all the details regarding this update on April 17th. DCS is the golden child of this update, but it is not the only piece of it! We encourage you to get out and experience DCS and the rest of these changes firsthand! With our sights set on more pieces of permanent content for the future, we hope this update is the next of many more that continue to challenge and entertain the loyal players who have stayed with us all these years. We look forward to seeing your attempts at this update, and to hearing all your feedback!
