Contrary to "Lost Lost Thieve's Guild", this is a mostly legit idea for some lore and a potential dungeon. This suggestion is about 50% serious, and 50% a joke. After reading a number of lore speculations and ideas I came across one I was particularly fond of. A player (whose name evades me) came up with the idea that a rogue mage is wrecking havoc on the world of Minez and seeks to release the gods and bring about an end to humanity. I personally loved this idea. Magic has always been a part of the lore of Minez, and I think that this rogue mage that has been proposed would suit well to be Darnie. A student of magic, Darnie always had a certain proclivity to the more destructive forces of magic, but was passionate and careful in his studies. When the gods fell and man took control, Darnie sought to re-open the archives of Axis Mundi and learn the secrets of the world for his own. Darnie studied ferociously, surpassing even the most powerful of wizards in his time. The towers of the Necromancers and Wizards fell, seemingly to some unknown outside force, when in reality, Darnie was behind their destruction. He became mad with the sheer power he possessed, and created a tomb deep underground to test those who hoped to reawaken the gods or steal the knowledge he had learned and hid away from Axis Mundi. The tomb consisted of his botched experiments on man, who now resembled the undead who plagued the earth, minus their rotten green flesh - the skeletons. As Darnie continued to push his boundaries, he sought immortality, and performed an ancient ritual to give him the eternal strength of the gods. Overwhelmed by his own capabilities, he imploded into a ball of arcane energy, becoming a failed experiment of his own creation. Now, deep underground, Darnie and his skeletal minions reside in twisting maze of evil magic. Those who re-open the tomb; beware. The powers below the earth are unimaginable, and Darnie patiently awaits his next victims. Darnie's overgrowth would mark a branch in the Endgame questline, an optional path to help cleanse the world of the dark forces that bind it. In freeing Darnie's soul, his killer would possess the unimaginable strength of Darnie, but must traverse the Elite Dungeon of the Arcane -- Darnie's Overgrowth. Legendaries - I kind of took inspiration for these from the other Elite dungeons- all of which inflict potions/durability damage to your equipment, so I figured Darnie would hope to counter those who may attack him, transferring the ailments to their senders or revesing them on himself with his arcane knowledge Darnie's Revenge - Iron Sword - Has a chance to transfer potion effects to the person being attacked, chance to ignore special effects of legendary armor Darnie's Reprisal - Bow - Inflicts the player hit with potion effects on the wielder for half the duration, removes buffs (speed, regen, absorbtion) from player hit. (Not debuffs - e.g. slowness, weakness, hunger) Darnie's Shroud - Iron Chestplate - Renders the wielder immune to negative potion effects/fire, has a chance to apply debuff to attacker. (Includes Therum's strength) Loses 10 durability every time an effect is blocked. Does not work on command block applied effects. Darnie's Antipode - Water bottle - Grants the drinker opposite effects of the potions currently on them (e.g. poison --> regeneration, slowness --> speed) for 10 seconds. Remove's burning. Does not work on command block applied effects. The boss fight would resemble something similar to killing the Ascended Xerath in Ascension on League of Legends. That is the main inspiration for this idea besides the other player's post I saw. Xerath fires bolts of arcane energy around him that could probably be replicated to some extent in minecraft using command blocks/ plugins. If you took the time to read and consider this, thank you! I actually put legitimate thought into this lore and the legendaries, and I hope you like it!!
But here is the real question, who WOULDN'T wanna beat a big Darnie up while he throws up pigmen and blows up everywhere.
We already have a legendary that does this but it takes away slowness and weakness too. Void bow. (Correct me if im wrong)
I fully support this. "Note, the support is given without reading any of the source material, and only on the basis of a "darnie" boss being added. Darn needs more recognition in the world of MineZ!"
the darn fight will consist of 4 block jumps over void ontop of pigman spawners and you have to shoot his eyes 20 times because of his cool sunglasses
