Annihilation Update - Duel Mode (3.3.0)

Hi everyone!

We are thrilled to announce our latest update Duel Mode!

This is a no content update. That means there were no class or mechanic changes. Instead, this update introduces Duel Mode and brings a much needed refactor to lots of core internal code.

What is Duel Mode?
Duel Mode is exactly like normal Annihilation, except only teams Red and Blue will be joinable and only maps that support two teams will be available to vote on. We will be expanding our selection of duel compatible maps in the future. Duel Mode will not follow the map rotation for now because an informal vote was conducted on Discord, and having no rotation was the most popular choice. This may change in the future.

When will Duel Mode be active?
Duel Mode will activate automatically when there are fewer players on Annihilation. We're currently experimenting with the logic that determines when Duel Mode will activate so we can deliver the best experience.

Why Duel Mode?
Duel Mode only requires 10 players to start a match, meaning they will start quicker. Only have two teams means that you will be less spread out, and more likely to have an action packed game.

Why only Red and Blue?
Maps in Annihilation are like normal Minecraft worlds, and they usually contain coloured blocks for each team (like wool and glass in bases). Annihilation doesn't currently support switching these coloured blocks automatically, so it was more efficient to stick with two teams that will work with all of our maps.

I don't even play Anni but this looks very exciting for the future of the gamemode.

Honestly this sounds like it was a long overdue update, the network hasn't had the playercount to sustain matches that were meant for 30-player teams for like 5 years now. Good to see that this has finally happened.
