Guide - A Guide to Potions

[Note: This is aimed at newer Anni players. We don't happen to have a wiki guide on pots, or I don't believe we do.]

Potions are a massive part of Anni. But there are so many pots to brew, and how do you know when to use them? And what types of pots should we use? This is a guide for every potion you could ask for, and how to use them.

Strength: Not str2, the 3 minute strength potion that is almost never used. It's quick and easy to make, but that's about it. I would not advise using this, for you could just make strength 2 or strength extended for a little more gold. But, if you do want to make it, here's the recipe: Water bottle->Nether wart->Blaze Powder It also looks like this: [IMG] It costs 31 gold, which is only 3 gold cheaper than it's other forms, which I would say you probably should use instead of strength 1. Strength Extended: A longer version of strength 1, that lasts 8 minutes. It's very, very useful for long rushes, farming kills, and taking out mid bases. It adds 130% attack damage, just like strength 1. The recipe is: Water bottle->Nether wart->Blaze powder->Redstone It looks just like strength 1. It costs 34 gold, but is definitely worth it. Strength 2: A very powerful version of strength 1. It's useful for big rushes with a lot of people, but not for ones that you plan to be there for a very long time due to it's short time. (It only lasts 1:30.) It adds 260% attack damage to every kill, which is double strength extended and strength 1. The recipe is: Water bottle->Nether wart->Blaze powder->Glowstone It, just like strength extended, looks just like strength 1. It also costs 34 gold, and is also very much worth it. Strength Splash: No matter what form, strength 1, strength 2, or strength extended, this is great for massive rushes. That adding on to the other benefits of the strength potion, it's very hard to stop. To make a splash potion, you just add gunpowder to the end of the potion recipe. It looks like this: [IMG] It costs 37 gold. [For the rest of the potions, or most of the rest, I'm going to make one section for all of the forms of pots. Strength is so different in all of it's forms that I couldn't put them all in one section.] Regeneration: A very useful potion, goes great with strength. Regeneration is probably best to use in it's extended form, for regen 1 lasts for only :45, and regen 2 lasts only :16. Regen extended lasts for 2:00. Recipes: Regen 1: Water bottle->Nether wart->Ghast tear Regen 2: Water bottle->Nether wart->Ghast tear->Glowstone Regen extended: Water bottle->Nether wart->Ghast tear->Redstone Regen splash: Water bottle->Nether wart->Ghast tear->[Optional for either redstone, glowstone, or neither depending on what form you want.]->Gunpowder It looks like this:[IMG]

Or in splash form: [IMG] It costs 31 for regen 1, 34 for regen extended and regen 2, and if you add 3 to any of those you get how much it costs for splash. Invisibility: Very good for solo rushes. Don't expect to get tons of nexus hits with this because if you wear armor or hold something it shows. If you take any damage what-so-ever you get uninvis. Acrobat goes great with this potion because it doesn't take fall damage. Also, you should probably use the extended version, because the non-extended only lasts for 3:00 and 8:00 (the extended time) is better for stealthiness. Recipes: Invis 1: Water bottle->Nether wart->Golden carrot->Fermented spider eye Invis Extended: Water bottle->Nether wart->Golden carrot->Fermented spider eye->Redstone Invis splash: Water bottle->Nether wart->Golden carrot->Fermented spider eye->[Either redstone or nothing, depending on what form you would like]->Gunpowder It looks like this:[IMG] Couldn't find a pic of the splash pot, that I'll have up soon! Invis 1 costs 21 gold, Invis extended costs 24 gold, and splash invis costs +3 to either of the potions. Swiftness: Often called speed, this potion goes great with strength rushes. Just a boost to help you get to a base faster. I would advise using this in it's 2 form, for you can get to bases much faster. Keep in mind that, with scout, it takes away the original speed you had. Recipes: Speed 1: Water bottle->Nether wart->Sugar Speed 2: Water bottle->Nether wart->Sugar->Glowstone Speed extended: Water bottle->Nether wart->Sugar->Redstone Speed splash: Water bottle->Nether wart->Sugar->[Redstone, Glowstone, or neither depending on what form you would like.]->Gunpowder It looks like this:[IMG] The splash version looks like this: [IMG] Swiftness 1 costs 18 gold, Swiftness 2 and Swiftness extended cost 21 gold and to get the splash form, just +3 to the form you want to make splash. Healing: To tell you the truth, the splash potion of healing is pretty useless. I would not advise you to make this. If you want to get more hearts, use regeneration potions. But if you really want to know how to make them... Recipes: Healing 1: Water bottle->Nether wart->Glistering Melon Healing 2: Water bottle->Nether wart->Glistering melon->Glowstone Healing Splash: Water bottle->Nether wart->Glistering melon->[Either Glowstone or nothing, depending on what form you want.]->Gunpowder It looks like this:[IMG] The splash form looks like this:[IMG] Healing 1 costs 18, healing 2 costs 21, and splash healing adds +3 gold to whichever form you would like. Fire Resistance: Also a pretty useless potion, it's only good for a place that has either fire or lava, which you can't find on most maps. I would advise not to waste your time making this. Recipes: Fire Res 1: Water bottle->Nether wart->Magma cream Fire Res Extended: Water bottle->Nether wart->Magma cream->Redstone Fire Res Splash: Water bottle->Nether wart->Magma cream->[Either Redstone or nothing, depending on which form you want.]->Gun powder It looks like this:[IMG] I couldn't find the splash version of it, should have that up soon! Fire res 1 costs 18, Fire res extended costs 21, and Fire res splash costs +3 to the form you would like. [Not even going to put night vision here, so unused that it doesn't deserve a part in the thread. If people want it, I'll add it.] The Negatives: [This includes Poison, Weakness and Harming, otherwise known as Instant Damage.] These negative potions are unused but can be very good if you know how to use them. DO NOT MAKE THESE IN ANY OTHER FORM THAN SPLASH! Poison is probably the least powerful, but it can take hearts away pretty fast. Weakness is the second least powerful, because it can help defeat people that are a little bit better than you. And Harming is the most powerful, because it ignores all armor. You should use these for rushes that you just kind of want to fool around in. I would advise having full iron in the rush. You have to be very precise so you don't injure yourself with the splash. Recipes: [I'm only going to put the recipes that you will need to succeed, meaning the splash ones.] Poison: Water bottle->Nether wart->Spider eye->Gunpowder Weakness: Water bottle->Nether wart->Fermented spider eye->Gunpowder Harming: Water bottle->Nether wart->Spider eye->Fermented spider eye->Gunpowder Working on the images. Can't find them ATM. They should be up soon. Poison costs 21, Weakness costs 22, and Harming costs 24. [Hope this was helpful! Took like 1 hour and 30 minutes to write!] Char (The format kinda broke, sorry. Hope you guys can follow it!)

Annihilation would honestly be more fun without these things.
    Trust me, I know.

I don't get how you're saying strength is different from other pots. It isn't. It basically always goes like this:
Water bottle -> Nether Wart -> Awkward Potion -> Specific potion material -> Glowstone for 2/ redstone for extended -> Put gunpowder ontop at any time to make it splash.

I'm not saying how you brew it, I'm saying how you use it. Str2, str extended and str1 are all used very differently.

Not as much as you cry... Lets cri together and hug it out, no homo style.

My post was referring to potions, which is what the guide is about. It is related, I'm sorry.
