I have been thinking about an RPG gamemode that would go great with Shotbow. It would be free form not like you must be level 100 or have completed ____ quest to enter. Structure and quest would be compleaty optional. For a more detailed disscusion look on page 2.

    Current Version:
    2.1

    Features
    Multiple Classes (6)
    Custom Mobs and effects
    Level system and skill tree
    Storyline
    PVE with PVP arenas

    Class List
These are the classes for this RPG. Three would be available from the start;Warrior, Mage, and Archer.
Warrior-medium attack, medium health, medium defense, medium attack cool down
Mage-powerful ranged attack, low health, low defense, mid attack cool down
Archer-ranged attack, mid health, low defense, mid/short attack cool down
Barbarian-high attack, mid-low health, low defense, long attack cool down
Ninja-low attack, low health, mid defense, fast attack cool down
Dwarf-low attack, high health, high defense, mid attack cool down

    Weapons
    Warrior-Sword
    Mage-Shovel
    Archer-Bow
    Barbarian-Ax
    Ninja-Hoe
    Dwarf-Pickaxe

    Quests
There would be a storyline but there would be a minimal amount of restricted areas. Certain quests would need to be completed in a sequence but the starting quest for each arch can be completed whenever. Quests would give EXP and money, and sometimes items. Other than that you are allowed to do all Leroy Jenkinsing and YOLOing that you wanted to do.

There is also armor class so that an archer can't get decked out in crazy armor. Also keep in mind that these are just the starting stats and armor AC. There could be buffs in place on the armor that make them stronger but more AC. Also a character can improve their AC to a certain extent.

    Base AC Stats
    Warrior-12-Full Iron
Mage-8-Leather with 2 pieces if chain or 1 piece of iron
Archer-7-Leather with 1 piece of chain armor
    Barbarian-10-Chain with iron Chestplate
    Ninja-9-Full Chain
    Dwarf-14-Full Iron with Diamond Chestplate

    L Helm - 1 AC
    L Chest - 2 AC
    L Leggings - 2 AC
    L Boots - 1 AC

    C Helm- 2 AC
    C Chest- 3 AC
    C Leggings- 3 AC
    C Boots-1 AC

    I Helm- 2 AC
    I Chest- 4 AC
    I Leggings- 4 AC
    I Boots-2 AC

    D Helm- 3 AC
    D Chest- 6 AC
    D Leggings- 5 AC
    D Boots-3 AC

There would also be grades of each weapons as well as enchantments and variants.

    Grades
    Ruined___-45% Power
    Flawed___-30% Power
    Tarnished___-15% Power
    Normal-No Buff
    Fine___+15% Power
    Excellent___+30% Power
    Perfect___+45% Power

Weapon Types-These have to do with the type of skills are stronger and some of the rare weapons even have natural abilities that deal with where you obtained them.
    Wood-Nature
    Diamond-Water
    Iron-Wind
    Gold-Fire
    Stone-Normal
*The bow would just have a custom name tag to represent its type

    Elemental Gems
When you kill a major boss he will drop an elemental reagent that can be used on a weapon or armor to give it resistance or damage.
Fire Powder(Redstone Dust)-Gives a fire damage to weapons and give fire resistance to armor-+? to weapons and -20% fire damage to armor
Water Crystal(Diamond)-Gives water damage to weapons and water resistance to armor-+? to weapons and -20% water damage to armor
Earth Gem(Emerald)-Gives earth/nature damage to weapons and earth/nature resistance to armor-+? to weapons and -20% earth/nature damage to armor
Wind Dust(Suger)-Gives wind damage to weapons and wind resistance to armor-+? to weapons and -20% wind damage to armor
There would be other buff reagents as well but these are just the elemental ones.

    Enchantments/Enhancements
These are not normal enchantments but are rather coded to do more/less damage with some special ability. They are shown in the name.

    Weapon Enchantments
_____Of Power +10% Power per level
_____Of Cleaving +.75 blocks of Knockback per level
Keen _____ +7.5% Critical Hit Chance (keep reading for this explination)

_____ of obliteration +1.5% chance to kill a non-boss monster that has less health than you in one hit per level
_____ of armor pirecing -10% of armor effectiveness per level

    Armor Enchantments
Protection Enchantments give an extra armor class point per level, secondary enchantments have an extra 2 for level one and one more AC per higher level.

--Boots of Protection-+8% armor efficiency per level
--Boots of magic-+X mana per level
--Boots of health-+X health per level

    Critical Hits
Weapons now determine the critical hit chance. It is now totally random. The keen enchantment can increase the amount as well as attributes and skills. Even classes can affect the critical hit chance. The critical hit does 2.5X as much damage per critical strike. Armor can help stop critical hits as much as it stops a normal attack.

So it works like a classic RPG, you get money and XP by killing monsters. The XP is of corse used for leveling up and is counted as Shotbow XP. You get skill points by leveling up and you make your character stronger. You use the money to buy gear and weapons. Your health level and XP bar are the same but your food is your mana points. Also the characters have different abilities and skills learnable and present.

    Skill Points/Attribute Points
The way these work is kinda like the LMS point system. You must get them in somewhat of an order with different upgrade paths. When you want to go to town to buy items or spend your points then you can use a book to teleport back to town. When you buy skills you can use your books for your magic skills.

    Money
You use money to buy weapons, armor and other gear. You get money from quests and killing monsters. You can spend your money at merchants found in towns.

    EXP
You get this from killing monsters and completing quests as well. You need this to level up. It is titled EXP so it's not confused with Shotbow XP.

    Shotbow XP
Shotbow XP is awarded with quests and monsters as well. You also get a bonus for level ups and possibly finding hidden Easter Eggs.

An alternative to the health and mana bit is using lava and water blocks to represent those respectively.

I will add more to this later.

    Todo List
    1.Add Warrior Skills
    2.Add Dwarf Skills
    3.Add Barbarian Skills
    4.Add Archer Skills
    5.Add Scrolls
    6.Add example monsters
    7.Add the first few quests

Would certainly be interesting, but I'm not sure how easy it would be considering the vanilla client limitations.

Hmm, I am sure they could make it.. However there are already so many RPG server of Minecraft.

Yeah but it's not a Shotbow game. If it was created I would play it even though I know it's in other places.
Well I know at but they created Wasted, I'm sure they could make this.

Oh just sayin with all these MCPVP people around they had better not copy this thing and give it to the MCPVP. If they do I will be pressing charges in the form of a lawsuit.

Also I added a bit more to the OP.

Most of them suck, and dungeon realms is closed beta lol.

Would it be like a simple rpg addition to normal mc, or would it be a full fledged rpg with actual cities and dungeons etc?

    XP:
    25,427xp
Probably a full fledged that could be replayed. It would take a lot of work but just by looking at the support I have now, the community could probably help build 40%< of the whole thing.

I think I would be really good at designing something like this (ideas and concepts, not coding), but unfortunately I probably wouldn't be able to lol.

And i KNOW its possible, cause if other things similar is in dev bukkit, then lazer can code them easy

But imagine if Lazer coded it. That would be crazy good. And really it doesn't matter if its already been done. We could just say inspired by Dungeon Realms, Shotbow has adapted the concept and put there own spin on it.
