I would like you all to meet Parker. He is one of the most energetic, hilarious, day brightening little punks I know. You can read up about Parker here, suffice it to say he is a little boy with some big challenges. Parker's family is hosting a garage sale to raise money for him to get some intensive therapy with the Now I Can.com foundation, and I offered to host a special live stream event in tandem. I will be playing various Shotbow Network games, maybe doing some live bugfixing, and perhaps other silly things starting tomorrow Morning around 9am CST. There will be givaways, shenanigans, and lots and lots of me dying to be had. (maybe even some GunZ if all goes according to plan)
Along with this event, we are offering an exclusive pet to anyone who contributes $5 or more via the Paypal link on his blog. Information about Parker's Chick and donation instructions can be found here:

Parker's Chick is an exclusive pet and will only be available between now and 11:59pm CST tomorrow night. You are welcome to contribute tonight and get your pet early before the rush during the stream tomorrow
All of the proceeds you contribute go straight to Parker's family.

Hey guys,
I know the last week has been proxy reboot hell, but this is due to a combination of things. Essentially, the friends system has begun pushing the limits of some of our existing setups in terms of database calls and server performance. However, lazer and I have been working tirelessly to nail down the problems. An overview of the issues and what we did to tackle it:
Thanks for putting up with the issues guys. While there have been some pains the last few weeks it is purely because we operate some of the most (if not these most) sophisticated servers due to the fancy things we do on all of our servers. We hope the new friends system is a huge addition to the network and all these pains are worth it. Thanks for flying Shotbow.

- The new friends system / bungee instance was spooling up a ton of threads. Without getting into the details, threads were being created but not garbage collected. Some java settings across the board, along with lazer doing some custom bungee changes, has kept this in line. As a result, the friends system should be stable and we shouldn't see it dying after a few hours. This was an issue isolated to us because we do a ton of custom, awesome things on the Bungee system.
- Minecraft has become a bit more thread intensive in general. To squeeze every bit of performance out of servers we use some pretty radical settings both on the java level and server level. However, these changes were causing some bottle neck issues. After identifying them, I've tweaked all of the servers and now it should be in tune. This should mean less read timeout errors and better performance overall across all servers.
- Annihilation was crashing randomly. This has been the bane of my existence for the last three weeks. After a lot of profiling, I nailed down the issue and so far it looks like the US servers have not had a single crash in 16 hours. I've never seen them go longer than about 4 hours without one of the games crashing, so it could be a good indication that the problem is fixed. If I see it happen again, I will keep tweaking but all signs point to FIXED. I have pushed these changes to the EU Annihilation servers and I will monitor them as well.
- We currently have an issue with the EU Shotbow XP system. It is the result of the transaction calls to our US servers being blocked by some filters Staminus uses. Basically, they think the EU servers are DDOS'ing the web box. They fixed it yesterday but it appears the filters have blocked it again sometime this morning. I'm working with Staminus and I'm hoping to get this fixed as soon as possible.
- MineZ appears to have achievements broken right now on EU. This is one of my top priorities but I need lazer to debug what is happening. It is his 25th birthday today, so I'm gonna let it wait until tomorrow so he gets to enjoy his bday.
Thanks for putting up with the issues guys. While there have been some pains the last few weeks it is purely because we operate some of the most (if not these most) sophisticated servers due to the fancy things we do on all of our servers.
